With the Tarangire River winding its way through the park, this is an especailly good choice to visit during the dry season (July - November) when the animals congregate along the river bed. The park has a large number of elephants and giraffe. It is common to see wildebeest, water buffalo, zebra, impala, lion and leopard. Walking safaris inside Tarangire are available as well as driving safaris. The park is located close enough to Moshi that it can be seen as a one day safari if desired.
